WHO MADE $6M A WEEK LAST YEAR?

Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling has been named the world’s best-paid author by Forbes magazine.
According to the US business publication, the 43-year-old banked $300 million (£170 million) in the last 12 months thanks to the continuing success of her Potter book and movie series, breaking down to over £3 million per week.
“It was wizardry that transformed J.K. Rowling from a destitute single mother on welfare into a bestselling billionaire,” said a Forbes spokesman.
“Over on the big screen, her Potter franchise has already generated $4.5 billion (£2.6bn) at the worldwide box office - and she still has three more flicks to come.”
Rowling’s earnings were six times more than second-placed author James Patterson, who penned Along Came A Spider and Kiss The Girls.

JAY Z – PRAISED!!

Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z has been praised for his humanitarian efforts in Africa.
The rapper was in attendance at the United Nations Global Leadership Awards Gala last week, where he was championed for his attempts to bring clean water to deprived areas of the continent.
Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, commented that he was pleased to see his hard work pay off.
“Many charities, you close your eyes and cross your fingers and hope that the money gets to the people who really deserve it.
“But with this, I got to go to Africa, see the water pumps. I got to see the kids turn them on,” he said.

LINDSAY LOHAN – I WANT TO ADOPT

Lindsay Lohan has revealed that she would like to adopt a child when she is older.
Lohan, 22, claimed that she is keen to follow Angelina Jolie and Madonna’s lead by helping a baby “in need” or from another country.
“At some point, I want to adopt a kid - a child in need or a newborn from another country. I’m not sure,” she told Marie Claire.
Speaking about her relationship with Samantha Ronson, Lohan added: “People can think what they want. I’m really happy and that’s all that really matters.
“I’ve made the decision to move forward. So yeah, she’s a great person.”
