I love the cartoons of Emad Hajjaj. Here’s a recent gem of his, and just in tune with the whole Muhannad-madness that happened in Jordan this week with the visit of the Turkish actor who plays Muhannad, real name Kivanc Tatliguoaidjofidsfadfa (it might as well be spelled that way since I can’t pronounce it either! Any Turkish Play listeners, please feel free to message me and tell me how to pronounce this guy’s name! :D).
Yesterday we were talking about how “Muhannad” is so loved here in Jordan and how, by visiting a children’s hospital and giving gifts to disabled kids he just played up his whole good guy, hero image. I’m a little suspicious of ya Muhannad now, I mean are you really so nice as to make a trip to Jordan to see disabled kids, or are you just trying to win over the 1% of ladies left in Jordan who aren’t in love with you yet?
Anyway, Noor is still all the rage, and I read in the newspaper that over 100,000 Saudis alone are expected to visit Turkey just because of the popularity of this show. (They have turned the palace where they film the show into a tourist attraction, you actually pay money to go in and take a look around!)
What do you think about all of this?
