One of the “Live in It to Win it” contestants

We’ve sent out a long list of questions to our “Live in it to Win it” registrants, to see how they would answer them, and who among them is the most creative, willing, ready, and able to be a part of our Toyota challenge!

One of the questions we asked our participants in the list was, send us three pictures of yourself that would fit under these three words: “Patience,” “Creativity,” and “Joy.”

We loved the pictures that Ayman sent us so much that we decided to post them here, to show as an example of what we’re looking for. Good job, Ayman! (click on the pics to enlarge)

1) Patience

Hikmat Road Safety Week

It’s Hikmat Road Safety week is happening on Play 99.6 from April the 20th til April the 24th, 2008.

This is your chance to help us! Schools should be a place of safety, they’re the second home to Jordan’s youth. We here at Play 99.6 hope to help the Hikmat Road Safety campaign raise much-needed funds to renovate roads and pedestrian walkways in front of schools to prevent road accidents where Jordan’s students go every day.

New Silver Cabs in Jordan?

Lee and I were discussing how, according to the Jordan Times, there is a new cab service in town. Next month, Amman’s first dial up taxi service will be formed! Finally. This is a dream come true for all those times you’re stuck somewhere, especially if its late or super early, and can’t find a cab.

There will be about 240 of them at first, and they will be silver color, brand new cars of the 2008 models. The cab drivers will be interviewed in order to work and will have to wear uniforms, and be covered by health insurance and social security. (which apparently isn’t a regular thing for cab drivers?).

Dan Harper’s Entertainment News

Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz loves to be told how she gorgeous she is - because she sees so many ugly pictures of herself in the press. The former model, whose past lovers include actor Matt Dillon and pop heartthrob Justin Timberlake, likes nothing more than to be complemented on her appearance - because she believes their is too much negativity about her looks in the press. She says, “Does a girl ever get tired of being told she’s pretty? It’s when you’re told ‘You’re much prettier than you look in photos.” “How are you expected to respond? ‘That’s because you saw some sleazebag photo of me loading up my car in my gym clothes?’ Is it a compliment? ‘You look half-human in real life?’ It’s a weird one.”

This is a cool story. I heard that the wedding ring of a pregnant woman saved her life when it deflected a bullet that would have hit her in the head during a robbery in Brazil.
