Jordanian Suberstar!
Tired of hearing Nickelback’s song, “Rockstar?” We’ve got something new for you!
The link BELOW is the hilarious spoof of the song made just for Jordanians, by Humam Ammari and Nadim Masri!
Click here to listen: Suberstar MP3
Humam and Nadim (yes, Humam gave us this funny picture of Nadim!)
Nadim Masri, a friend of Humam’s, came up with the idea to spoof “Rockstar” and came up with the lyrics. Humam also collaborated on the lyrics and decided to sing and play it. Raed Hamam was in charge of mixing and recording.
We caught up with Humam and Nadim, and asked them some questions about this spoof:
Maha: Did you expect it to spread around so quickly?
Humam and Nadim: No, we just sent it out to some friends. Next thing we know, people from abroad were asking us about SUBERSTAR!!
Maha: Will you do another song like that?
Nadim: Honestly, I don’t think so… but we’re planning to shoot a silly video for the song. We’ll post it on Youtube.
Humam: No… maybe… I don’t think so. Well, this is not my style, I write my own songs and you can check them out on www.play.jo/localtalents and www.raincrash.com.
And the guys say, if you want to be in the video, email them at suberstar2008@gmail.com.
He says you have the option of being cast as:
• The Bodyguard (abu brais)
• Chauffer (7arboug)
• A Stunt Man/Woman
• The Guy with the waxed hair
• …… Basically anything but the “SUBERSTAR”
We are definitely looking forward to seeing that video very soon!

Congratulations, you just made it clear just how irrelevant your priorities are! Drinking, women and fame. I believe that the contents of this song represent everything that a true Jordanian is not. A true Jordanian is famous because of his/her intellect, respect for his/her self, respect to others. Of course, you wouldn’t know that because you are at the bars drinking the night away, or just going to blue fig to take advantage of women. What is striking is that some women actually like this song, disregarding how they are being downgraded by it. How about you get a job, and know how it feels to struggle through these tough times? I am sure that would be better content for a song than this nonsense. I am not sure how you came up with all this, but quite simply, you are a disgrace. If you wanna be famous, then you may also wanna consider helping the needy, or doing something for the sake of humanity, I am sure that will grant you fame across Jordan.

October 7th, 2008 at 12:14 pm
LOOL This message is in reply to the Jordanian. I think you should open a dictionary and look up the word sarcasm, there is a lot of that in the song. Didn’t you realise while listening to it that it was kind of funny and not a serious song? If you knew humam you would know that he is about making people for the least smile which doing something for humanity… hehehe you make me laugh, i have nothing against you but understand what you are trying to bring down before trying to do so… You are right about Jordanians and their lifestyle and this song isn’t a disgrace to anything but to people who actually live for wanting to become a “superstar” whom’s idols are the people described in the song… Take care man and don’t be so critical of people trying to make something of their life, try doing something of yours
October 7th, 2008 at 1:01 pm
at first i thought it was sooo ridiculous for an artist to mimic anyone an artist should have his own style still after listening to this song and see how much effort you put in it i can only say ROCK ON man waiting too see something from you
October 7th, 2008 at 2:44 pm
A REPLY TO JORDAN
Excuse me Mr./Miss Jordanian I don’t believe I have ever read any comment so pessimistic and full of rage and hatred as yours! SERIOUSLY.. you sound like that person SITTING in “THAT” bar and your so called “BLUE FIG” begging for any kind of attention because clearly you are the one with miserable life not us.. YOU SEE those two guys who just made us laugh our hearts off HAVE DEGREES AND JOBS and they DO ssomething with their lives.. at least they speak the language of music of which I am sure it doesn’t exist in your dictionary!! THEY ACTUALLY GAVE MORE THAN A 1000 people a taste of laughter so I WON’T ALLOW such an ugly person like yourself to actually waste OUR time reading ur stupid “WANNA BE INTELLECTUAL” comment!!
You can go sign in a “how to get a life” camp SOMEWHERE OUT OF HERE and if u need help finding one.. I don’t think anyone would be interested to help you! so save us your “doing something for the humanity sake and get out of here!
October 7th, 2008 at 6:47 pm
wat a greatt song!! very ridiculous and sarcastic ! hahahah made me laugh my heart off
! amazing ! great songs humam!!
rockstar is my ringtone and i believe this song is much better than the original
October 7th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
To Aboud:
Well first of all, thanks for replying. You are right about how people should make something out their life. But, I believe that we should be critical of the work of others, because that is the only way development can be achieved. Were it not for citicism, many things in our life wouldn’t be as good. No one said that I was trying to bring down anything, all I am saying is that if Humam wants to sing about something, then he should consider singing about something more appropriate. I dont have a problem with his idea, I have a problem with the content. I must thank you for replying logically, it seems that many people dont have the mental capacity to do such a thing, such as LOSER23.
October 7th, 2008 at 8:00 pm
To Loser 23:
Well, what can I say…your name says it all. There is no rage or hatred. All what exists is disbelief. I refuse to believe that a person who has talent chose to utilize that gift on something that really has no meaning at all. If there is anyone that is begging for attention it is you, as you fail to reply in a respectable manner. Just because someone has a degree, doesn’t mean that they know what they are doing. As for your claim that I do not know music, well I can not do anything but feel sorry for you. If you believe that this is “music” then you would be practically disrespecting all the musicians that existed on this planet. True comedy my dear loser, is one that has the ability to appeals to everyone as the famous Bill Cosby suggests. Are you suggesting that if Mr. Humam went to “Ras El 3ain” and played his joke, people would just stand there and laugh? I have good news for you, the “how to get a life” camp has been converted to “So you think you have brain” rehabilitation center, funded by a society of intellects across Jordan.
October 8th, 2008 at 12:00 am
Dear Mr. Jordanian,
Let me disagree with you, because as long as we have people who think like you in Jordan, we’ll always stay a third world country, let me tell you this and make it clear, the greatest country in the world which i’m sure you’re smart enough to figure it out yourself; got the very likes of our new star humam. Look at Chris Rock for example his stand up comedy and all the cursing he does, shouldn’t he be critisized ?! or lets say Eminem or 50 Cent with their music, come on buddy this is nothing compared to what happens in America, and still it is the world power.
Also I arrived last night from Germany and attended the Oktoberfest in Munich, and this festival is all about beer and basically everyone in the country was there drinking beer and celebrating life like there is no tomorrow, does that make them look bad? not at all. Did this annual festival made the Germans look less smart or intellegent? So please Mr. relax because by your non-sense comments you are giving us Jordanians a bad image, trust me your opinions are attacking Humam and Nadim personally and this is unacceptable.
I suggest you back off and let Jordanians enjoy comedy at its best, and let our new talents rise … huh no wonder we don’t have any artists or celebrities in this country, you made me realise it’s people like you who always stop in their way, and trust me i know alot like you but at least they kept their opinions to theirselves.
Humam and Nadim are really close friends of mine, they work so hard and graduated with high degrees, but most importantly they didn’t create this song for you to listen to, but it was spread by chance, and that means Jordanians love it. I would appreciate if you don’t reply back here because we don’t need to hear your rediculous comments anymore, if you really don’t like the song, just simply don’t listen to it, you’ll make us all a big favor, and we will respect your opinion too. wouldn’t that just make life much enjoyable?!
October 8th, 2008 at 5:59 am
Mr. Jordanian or whoever you claim to be. First I would like to tell you that you have just made a complete fool of yourself on this blog and Im sure many think so. You have just wasted our time, and insulted our indeed superstar Humam and to come along with the “content” Nadim. I was one of the ones who suggested this song goes public, not thinking that there are plain idiots like you out there.. If you actually know or try to know local artists and go watch them.. youd know what humam sings and how humane he is.. Im sure much more than you claim to be. And insulting women?? I am a woman and I was no insulted because there is nothing wrong with it… People like you go to blue fig for girls.. other normal ones like myself and the rest just go to enjoy a drink and socialize.. and again i would like to emphasize that it is their choice if they want to work or not they don’t have to prove to people like you anything. Im sad you classify yourself as a jordanian, because this is the best country in the world and definitely all of us who consider ourselves jordanian are ashamed to be in the same category as what u consider yourself!! again i would like to point out a point, leave your effed up mentality and come to realize that drinking is not such a big deal and its just a lifestyle, definitely much more interesting than your uneducated “humane” life your leading.. I really hope i never get in contact with you.. it would just be way too sad..
October 8th, 2008 at 6:00 am
HUMMMZZZ can i be the 7ares???
October 8th, 2008 at 6:18 am
One more thing “Mr. Jordanian” if you are so confident and proud of your opinions and your humane lifestyle why don’t you reveal your name???
October 8th, 2008 at 11:45 am
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA i cant stop laughing!!!!!!
Nadime, Humam, way to go guys!!!!!
October 8th, 2008 at 12:49 pm
Thank you for the compliments everyone… You’re truly amazing…
As for Mr./Mrs./Miss Jordanian… we respect your opinion… but you need to relax a little my friend
This was done as a joke… and it does not need to discuss the real issues and responsibilities that we have… it was made JUST for fun… and it does not portray the Jordanian dream…
If people shouldn’t be doing sarcastic stuff… and everyone need to be serious all the time… Then someone should call up Jerry Seinfeld and convince him to change the concept of his successful “show about nothing” to discuss more serious issues and real problems of the American society instead…..!!!
Anyway… let’s all take it easy… the song was posted here to entertain people… not to build up tension and hatred…. so have a good day everyone… cheers..
October 8th, 2008 at 3:20 pm
great Song…. great work guys… wanna hear more of this stuff… Big thanks to play 996 as well
October 8th, 2008 at 7:06 pm
I want the lyrics please
October 9th, 2008 at 11:28 am
I agree with comment #33…sooo damn true… And I think you said it all when you said “as long as we have people who think like you in Jordan, we’ll always stay a third world country”!! EXACTLY TRUE! It’s just people like him/her who have their eyes covered all the time to the real world! ANYWAY, who cares what ONE person thinks! Not worth the time, so all i have to say about this song is..
LMAO!! That was friggin hilarious! Great job! Hysterical, and i will definitely be sending to all my friends! Thanks for posting and making everyone laugh (except for mr.jord…how could you NOT laugh! GOD!!!) Thanks again!
October 9th, 2008 at 9:09 pm
To everyone that has replied to my comments and especially G. Abujaber:
So, it seems that you have found why Jordan is considered a third world country. I am surprised that you didn’t mention anything economic factos, what a joke you are! The reason why we are a third world country apart from the economic factors, is the fact that whenever someone gives a different opinion, we always shut our ears and fail to consider his/her point of view. Chris Rock’s comedy believe it or not makes a point almost everytime, as for Eminem and all these hip hop artists, well if you compared their music to what 2pac used to sing about, then you would probably know why 2pac was the greatest of them all. HE MADE THE MUSIC REVOLVE AROUND A POINT!. HUMAM and NADIM: I am not saying that both of you are not talented, but all I am saying is that I believe you are not channelling correctly…its like having yanni do rock n’ roll. If my views are the reason why this great country is considered a third world country, then I would certainly like to hear your suggestions on how to improve it. “Zhigt el wagfe 3ala bab el eight…o ghairkom ga3id biddawir 3ala bait”
October 9th, 2008 at 9:12 pm
one more thing….just imagine that you are a person with extremely limited financial resources, and you hear this song. How would it make you feel? think about it.
October 9th, 2008 at 11:44 pm
HEY ‘JORDANIAN’, I THINK YOU HAD ENOUGH SAY, NOW CAN YOU PLEEEEAAASSSSEEEE SHUT UP ALREADY MAN!! THIS BLOG IS NOT ABOUT U, IT’S ABOUT THE SONG THAT MADE EVERYONE HERE LAUGH, EXCEPT YOU APPARANTLY, WE GET IT… YOU DON’T LIKE IT, BUT THAT’S ONLY YOUR OPINION.. YOU HAD UR SAY, NOW LET EVERYONE ELSE WRITE WHAT THEY THINK, WITHOUT UR COMMENTS…LET IT GO ALREADY, AND LAUGH IT OFF!! TYPICAL ARAB! (SHAKIN MY HEAD) LOL
October 9th, 2008 at 11:50 pm
OH AND ONE MORE THING, ABOUT COMMENT #43, I DON’T THINK PEOPLE WITH ‘EXTREMELY LIMITED FINANCIAL RESOURCES’ ARE LISTENING TO PLAY 99.6, OR EVEN KNOW ABOUT THE ORIGINAL SONG! LOL.. YA THINK?!
October 10th, 2008 at 12:41 am
Ladies and gentlemen, I have read this thread of comments. I think all of you have over reacted and just attacked Mr/Ms/Mrs Jordanian, without even respecting the opinion. Are we, or are we not heading towards to an intellectual and democratic country, in which each can provide their own opinion? Just the same idea Nadim and Humam has spread their ‘musical accomplishment’ across the Jordanian society, Jordanian’s opinion probably be criticised but not attacked like G.AbuJaber and LOSER23 did.
From his writing, Jordanian seems to be an educated man to suggest the fact that he’s/she’s looking towards a more efficient and positive environment. I mean people with all due respect, do u consider this being a musical accomplishment? Come on… Celebrities rise because of that? Celebrities would not be rising from such ‘Jokes’ yet from real musical accomplishment. Hearing it once and twice, I found it being a laugh but I think considering the fact that they are highly educated and probably graduated from respected universities abroad, they would have the ability of being constructive and supportive to the society.
I support Hamam as a local talent I do agree he has some good songs, but i don’t really think that it’s ‘cool’ having such a song. Please enlighten us Hamam with more music!
P.S. What’s Nadim’s role in the song play exactly? The celebrity that wants fame from appearing on the song and video to look and sound cool? Please explain!

Jordanian Says:
October 9th, 2008 at 9:12 pm
one more thing….just imagine that you are a person with extremely limited financial resources, and you hear this song. How would it make you feel? think about it….
______________________________________
hahahaha are you for real “jordanian” ? .. This is just a funny song , the next one should be about guys like you..
yalla 7abibi go back to ur tent
October 10th, 2008 at 11:55 am
Whoaaa guys, I think the majority of us agrees that this song was hilarious! It doesn’t reflect what we are as Jordanians because obviously were not all running around from bar to bar with our guitars (not to say that Nadim and Humam are either). It was simply made to get us all to laugh and it succeeded!! =) The spoof was using an American song and incorporating places and things that relate to youth here, like za3tar w zeit, waxed hair , that sorta thing.
I think Jordanian took it a little too seriously when he/she wrote their comments. I get what he/she is saying about the whole financial thing because people are struggling with that issue world-wide and this doesnt disclude Play listeners because its hitting EVERYBODY not just a certain level of society. Anyways, thats beyond the point. Guys we should all just drop bashing this person for their opinion. Remember that theres always going to be people that don’t agree with you and that doesn’t make them ignorant or losers. Leave people the freedom to voice their own opinions whether good or bad. You don’t want to hesitate the next time you want to say something in fear of a million people attacking you for what you feel, right?
Humam and Nadim , keep doing what your doing! Can’t wait to see the video!! =D
October 10th, 2008 at 5:57 pm
Thank you for the best diplomatic and supportive words Heba! What you said is actually true… to a certain extent.
May I just say to both Mr/Ms/Mrs ‘Rave’ and ‘Summar’ that they have to be a bit more intellectual, respective and ‘less-shallow’ and not thinking that they are all cool talking about ‘going back to your tent’ and dissing the financially incapable. ‘Summar’, are you saying that 99.6 is only for a certain class of people since the financially incapable ”dont know the original song”? so you are the cool one that knows it! and typical arab?? It would be either that you are not an arab and dissing arabs, or just trying to be westernised disidentifying yourself as an arab ‘typical arab’! It just surprises me how many people in our country are educated enough to look outside the box. Not think of how to get to eight or nai. lol
October 10th, 2008 at 6:04 pm
itits very unimpressive to read how people actually think nowadays. just like in the 1980’s where the american dream what every humanbeing looked up to, now the ‘jordanian dream’ has created a new standard of living… from what i can see is that people (without mentioning any names of course) think that if you have internet, drive a merc (or bmw, if u got spicy taste), have internet to facebook and get into eight in a very slick way then you’re just living the ‘jordanian dream’. you should look at abu mahjoob’s cartoon of a typical jordanian guy - impressive!!
October 10th, 2008 at 6:12 pm
To Summar:
First of all, you dont have the legal right to tell me when its time for me to back off, so know ur limits. There is a thing in this world called a discussion, and that is whats going on here. “Typical Arab” you say…wow, i absolutely convinced that you are sensless. I am a proud Arab who happens to be a Jordanian, and your comment is disgusting. If you live in Jordan, I urge you to do yourself a favor and get out, because all we need in this country are proud Arabs. The fact that I stand by what I believe in does make me a typical Arab, because thats what every Arab should be. However, I am appauled to see that it is a sin to do just that in this day and age. I guess that this is the fruit of globalization…forgetting who we really are, to the extent that we turn against each other when we differ in points of view. No wonder the rest of the world feels bad for us. You also said ” I DON’T THINK PEOPLE WITH ‘EXTREMELY LIMITED FINANCIAL RESOURCES’ ARE LISTENING TO PLAY 99.6, OR EVEN KNOW ABOUT THE ORIGINAL SONG!” and that just made me laugh to be honest. So only the financially elite get to listen to this radio station? Amazing, i dont think the admin of play fm had this as their target market. Your comment just shows how “cool” you are doesnt it? what a cool person, cool to the extent that you dont know just how many financially limited people are educated just like myself..and possibly you as well. Its the lack of opportunity that is killing them, and people like u shut the door in their face because their not from your ridiculous “High class”. life is not about money.
October 10th, 2008 at 6:15 pm
To rave:
“go back your tent”…all i can say is “Allah yir7am Jdoodak”. U know some people live in tents to this day? They probably lead a more productive life than yours. I am sure if they heard u say this they would categorize you as “3adeem el asil”.
October 10th, 2008 at 6:16 pm
To Heba:
Whoever you are…god bless. Not because you kinda agree with me, but because you are extremely polite and kind. So thank you.
October 10th, 2008 at 6:54 pm
No need to thank me, I’m a strong believer of being unique, creative and letting your voice be heard. Both parties fit that category. Nadim & Humam were being creative and your stating your opinion.
Simply stated: Some people like things, while others don’t. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and as long as it’s not disrespecting anyone, you shouldn’t be put down for it .(generally speaking for any situtation)
All the commenting back and forth on who’s right and who’s wrong, made people miss the point. This was made to make people laugh. So lighten up and enjoy it!
October 10th, 2008 at 8:39 pm
THAT WAS AWSOME!! I laughed so hard and all my friends did too FREAKING ACE
October 11th, 2008 at 10:33 am
Dear Jordanian for the last time, and Superstar:
following is the real song by Nickleback, enjoy and go to their website have your say, maybe you’ll get the respect you need in there, show them what we Jordanians think of their song and tell them that the Jordanian version is out too. (don’t forget to mention that our lyrics are so close to theirs but we were careful not using drugs and playboy bunnies in our lyrics), maybe they have something to say about all this.
one more thing … don’t get me wrong, i love democracy and respect your opinion totally, instead i love to see the difference in opinions about this song, i also expected a lot of critisism on “Suberstar”, but i just don’t think you have any right to critisize Humam and Nadim personally, plus if you read their interview on top you wouldn’t have over-reacted, they’re just messing around and translating an american song, anyways enjoy reading the real lyrics —
I’m through with standing in line
to clubs we’ll never get in
It’s like the bottom of the ninth
and I’m never gonna win
This life hasn’t turned out
quite the way I want it to be
(Tell me what you want)
I want a brand new house
on an episode of Cribs
And a bathroom I can play baseball in
And a king size tub big enough
for ten plus me
(Tell me what you need)
I’ll need a credit card that’s got no limit
And a big black jet with a bedroom in it
Gonna join the mile high club
At thirty-seven thousand feet
(Been there done that)
I want a new tour bus full of old guitars
My own star on Hollywood Boulevard
Somewhere between Cher and
James Dean is fine for me
(So how ya gonna do it?)
I’m gonna trade this life for fortune and fame
I’d even cut my hair and change my name
[CHORUS]
‘Cause we all just wanna be big rockstars
And live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars
The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap
We’ll all stay skinny ’cause we just won’t eat
And we’ll hang out in the coolest bars
In the VIP with the movie stars
Every good gold digger’s
Gonna wind up there
Every Playboy bunny
With her bleach blond hair
Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar
Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar
I wanna be great like Elvis without the tassels
Hire eight body guards that love to beat up assholes
Sign a couple autographs
So I can eat my meals for free
(I’ll have a quesadilla on the house)
I’m gonna dress my ass
with the latest fashion
Get a front door key to the Playboy mansion
Gonna date a centerfold that loves to
blow my money for me
(So how ya gonna do it?)
I’m gonna trade this life
For fortune and fame
I’d even cut my hair
And change my name
‘Cause we all just wanna be big rockstars
And live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars
The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap
We’ll all stay skinny ’cause we just won’t eat
And we’ll hang out in the coolest bars
In the VIP with the movie stars
Every good gold digger’s
Gonna wind up there
Every Playboy bunny
With her bleach blond hair
And we’ll hide out in the private rooms
With the latest dictionary and
today’s who’s who
They’ll get you anything
with that evil smile
Everybody’s got a
drug dealer on speed dial
Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar
I’m gonna sing those songs
that offend the censors
Gonna pop my pills
from a pez dispenser
Get washed-up singers writing all my songs
Lip sync em every night so I don’t get ‘em wrong
Well we all just wanna be big rockstars
And live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars
The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap
We’ll all stay skinny ’cause we just won’t eat
And we’ll hang out in the coolest bars
In the VIP with the movie stars
Every good gold digger’s
Gonna wind up there
Every Playboy bunny
With her bleach blond hair
And we’ll hide out in the private rooms
With the latest dictionary and
today’s who’s who
They’ll get you anything
with that evil smile
Everybody’s got a
drug dealer on speed dial
Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar
Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar
October 11th, 2008 at 6:03 pm
Perfect guys. Wow you made my day. God Bless You.

Hello everyone, read all the comments, and i have to say that i agree with heba and summar both. Not to single anyone out, sorry jordanian, but i think you are blowing things way out of proportion! People are here to write their comments on the song, and if you didnt like it thats your opinion bt others DID like it and thats theirs! i started reading this blog from comment 1, and until u wrote ur opinion, you started a war. you do have the right to state what you please, but you cant expect people to comment in a friendly fashion if you disrespect theirs..Like hiba said, LIGHTEN UP! and about what summer said about who listens to play i think everyone knws what she meant. more than 1/2 my jord friends never even heard of play, and all my american friends all know it. nothing to do with class or money people!!just a plain fact. or mybe my opinion?! i dunno, hmmmm, myb we should take a poll on that in the streets of amman! LOL
And to the guys that made this spoof, all i can say, is absolutely fantabulous!! Must admit, i didn’t get allllll of it, (what is abu brais??) but it def cracked me up.
My husband who is 100% jordanian was hysterical over it too. that’s how i know its funny! : ) jst too bad that there are so many close minded people who cant take a joke. Cant wait to see the videoooo!!!

Well, well… what a reaction we got here! I read ur blah blah blah comments (barely, bc u babble too much) so called ‘jordanian’and everyone else, and i’m not even gonna dignify it with a response to you bc u are not worth my time. Think what you want, I don’t give a toot! Enough said to you…
To ‘bhappi’, i’m glad that someone understood what i meant, and not put a spin on it to cause more havoc! EHEM, EHEM!
Now to ‘G.Abujaber’, I totally agree with you and everything you said in ur comments. Especially #56! This song is JUST a translation of an american song, and SOME (cough, cough)people just don’t seem to understand that!!! I guess some people are mentally challenged! Very sad isn’t it?? And i do want to thank you for putting up the song lyrics. I always wanted to know exactly what they said, it wasn’t always clear. Thanks for clearing that up for me! For some reason, i always thought that they said in the chorus
“The girls come easy and the ‘booze’ come cheap”…??? Guess not! LOL
Please feel free to comment on my comment. It’s a free country! Oh wait…ooooops, sorry, its not! MY BAD! : P

Oh, and i just read ur comment ‘#49, superstar’, and my response to you is this…YES, i do think that a certain “class” of people listen to Play. I think that that certain ‘class’ of people are those who enjoy the english tunes and the american songs. Period! That’s all i meant. I didn’t mean to criticize anyone who is in financial struggles! If i offended anyone, my apologies people. Someone else in this blog just changed my words to make it seem otherwise. And about the ‘typical arab’ thing…well, what can i say, JOKE PEOPLE! JOKE!! Why is everyone soooo serious? Just think of how the guys from ‘Axis of Evil’ put a spin on it. Comedy at its greatest! That’s all i meant! SMILE and try and have a nice day!

Summar@ Comment Nr 45: “I DON’T THINK PEOPLE WITH ‘EXTREMELY LIMITED FINANCIAL RESOURCES’ ARE LISTENING TO PLAY 99.6, OR EVEN KNOW ABOUT THE ORIGINAL SONG! LOL.. YA THINK?!”
Remember that radio is FREE to AIR! anyone can listen to Play 99.6, and u can go checkout what kind of people go to collect their prices from Play just a very simple sample! a whole bunch of variety of people, some come with a bus to dakhelieh circle and walk it to the station, some others have their driver waiting for them downstairs!
You can’t judge or limit radio to certain people, neither do i, neither can anyone!
besides, dont forget that the song, as well as the original one by nickleback got airplay on the most popular show in the kingdom (Al-Wakeel’s show, where over 3 million people listen daily)

LMAO!!
very nice playing and sound quality! perfectly done! unbelievably hilarious, especially to anyone familiar with the stereotypical idea of a rich ammani lifestyle! and the translation… priceless!
and JORDANIAN (you using this name was an insult by itself when you egotistically believed that you represent the true jordanians by using this name, unlike “us” other senseless alcoholic drones!)… let me just say one thing:
——it’s because of people like you that we (almost)NEVER have any live stand-up comedy shows in this country——–
if you dont want to be attacked, dont attack other people, especially in the blind and may i say ignorant way you’ve done. read up on something before criticizing it.
and PLEASE don’t pretend to be be a feminist or pro-feminist cause you’re not even close to that.
the original song is sarcastic and the remake is even more sarcastic. it’s for fun, and there’s a time and place for everything. so please chill or people like you will just make creative, ambitious and open-minded people run away from the country before you can say “suBerstar”!
over and out!
cheers!

I liked the song..it really represents shabab 3amman….and for Mr. Jordanian!!! r u living in Jordan!!! do u know how ppl act whether from Ras El 3ein or 3abdoun…..I doubt that u do….
October 27th, 2008 at 12:39 am
Maya:
“I liked the song..it really represents shabab 3amman” is that something to be proud of? and yes, I am a Jordanian, lived in Jordan all my life. Believe me when I tell you that people from Ras el 3ain are not the same as the people in 3abdoun. If you dont believe me, why dont u go there yourself? tell me what you see.
Suzy Q:
I use the name Jordanian, cuz thats what I am. U do not have the right to say that I am not. I have no problem with sarcastic comedy, but the fact of the matter is that there is no sarcasm. this is the current condition in Amman. If anything, it is the failure to recognize this phenomena that is making things so much worse. The original song is sarcastic, because in America, people are aware that such things dont matter, as opposed to our modern Jordanian youth who glorifies this and makes it “cool”. please, try to think on a higher level. Do not blame me for your blindness, blame yourself. By blindness, i mean your amazing ability to not see things the way they really are. This is a social disease that is bringing us down when ever person like yourself sneezes.
Have a nice life.
The Jordanian from SALT.
October 29th, 2008 at 12:35 am
jordanian, you are a very rude person. dont assume things about me like you assumed things about the original singers. you insult me and tell me i am blind when you know nothing of me and how i see jordan. what i wrote did not reflect that but talked about a totally different subject.
sarcasm, my dear, has been and still is one of the best ways of correction. it is because we are aware of the situation, that is why we are SARCASTIC about it. get a dictionary and look it up and stop insulting and assuming things about people…
… and please read what the other person said before talking about what the little voice in your head says. everyone in this room agrees with the fact that the situation in the country with the ‘cool’ things is ridiculous.. THAT is WHY the song is funny. get out of your own bubble and stop thinking that everyone is ignorant and blame them for everything and that they are the ones that are wrong, never looking upon yourself - the one BIG mistake people make in this country.
and yes, you did use jordanian to state that We are not, and you said that before. please, dont assume we are idiots, cause we arent.
and if you want to use similes so desperately, try not to turn the whole paragraph and idea just to make your nice language appear. social disease ma ba3raf shu. be polite for a change, it might do you good.
